WordPress tutorial on adding a youtube video to a wordpress website

I just figured out how to add a youtube video to my wordpress website.

It turned out to be very easy. Here are the steps I used to add my first youtube video to my wordpress website:

1. Go to the video you want to use on the youtube site.
2. Click on the embed button that is underneath the youtube video.
3. copy the embed (html) code
4. login to your wordpress admin page and creat a new post or page
5. click on the html button that is on the right and above the toolbar
6. paste the embed code you copied from youtube
7. click on “publish” to publish your youtube video post

Yes I know, it is that simple.

I am attempting to learn how to do my own video tutorial screencasts. This has been challenging but I am committed to the goal and making some progress.

Then my plan is to create my own youtube channel to post my videos that I will then embed in my website.

I choose to host my videos on youtube because the storage that is available on my hosted wordpress website is limited. I am hoping too that having my own youtube channel with relevant video tutorials will also give me some “link juice” with the search engines.
